old school britney - totally hot

poor britney - i was really rooting for her. i wanted her to be able to put her troubles behind her and start anew, but her performance was completely lacking. the camera pans in on britney's face - she's sporting blue contacts and looks good. Wearing a sparkly bra and panty-esque set, she seems slimmer but still not her hot bod from pre-kevin federline days.

blah and mediocre, she lip-synced and seemed to half-ass her performance. her dancing was minimal and consisted of some thrusting with alot of walking around the stage. i can understand not wanting to provide any more fodder for paparazzi, but this was her opportunity to show us and the world that britney was BACK.

also, i didn't see any of the hyped criss angel mirror and magic act. did i miss something??

man band? seriously?

vh1 is now airing a show called Mission Man Band - a culmination of has-beens from boy bands of yesteryear. so who exactly is in this show?

bryan abrams - color me badd
- don't remember him, but now he's 300 lbs or something

rich cronin - lfo
- you remember this asswipe? he's the guy who was in the short-lived boy band singing "summer girls" and professing his love for jennifer love hewitt
- first impression when i saw him on the show: who the f#%* is this guy? so i looked him up on wikipedia...oh it's that guy... and then i thought: what in the world happened to his face?
- upon deeper digging, i found out he has leukemia - then i felt really horrible about the above comment
- after even more digging, i found he's still a prick and having leukemia hasn't changed him. case in point: he's clearly still obsessed with making fun of chinese people - not sure what's up his ass (see "chinese salsa" on youtube and you'll see what i mean)
- also see this perverted email to someone he dated under "dulcejesus 2007-08-04 01:01pm" (http://community.livejournal.com/ohnotheydidnt/14388366.html)

- looks the same and is still relatively attractive

Real World Sydney - 1st Impressions

the 19th season of MTV's the real world started out with cattiness galore. the 4 girls in the house almost immediately divide into 2 factions - bimbos vs. non-bimbos. let's start with first impressions of each cast member.


the girls:

parisa - persian new yorker, love the name, seems to be a tad on the dramatic side, but definitely has a brain, the only girl thus far that doesn't seem to be an idiot

shauvon - blonde #1 with large boobs, friends with parisa, makes out with isaac, kinda seems like she belongs on bimbo side more than parisa's

kellyanne - i'm already seeing her being referred to as "kellyanus", texan, young, slutty, catty, immature, very high school "prep"

trisha - dumb & bitchy, blonde #2 with large boobs, friends with kellyanus, kinda racist??? made a remark about how she couldn't handle talking to a recent immigrant who didn't have perfect english speaking skills, also slutty and stupid, the perfect embodiment of an airhead

the guys:

cohutta - cute guy from georgia

dunbar - already the object of affection between kellyanus and parisa, though i'm not sure he's worthy of the attention, cohutta is cuter

isaac - not a big impression on me thus far, made out with shauvon, is obsessed with breasts

the cast seems overwhelmingly americana???

perfect french manicure

this is a little off-topic of what i usually discuss, but i couldn't resist sharing this little tip i learned yesterday.

i recently purchased the sally hansen french manicure set with the white tip pen. i was hoping that this would be the end-all be-all of at home french manicures. the kit came with the pen, a base polish, a sheer nail color polish, and tip guides. pretty self-explanatory. i put on the guides and went to town with the pen. when i peeled off the guides, i was disappointed that the white polish seeped underneath the stick-on guide and made a mess on the rest of my nail. i tried correcting it with nail polish remover - but i'm not coordinated enough to make it look like it never happened.

then i thought, well maybe i just need to practice. 5 full painting and removing cycles later - i was annoyed and extremely frustrated. i googled french manicure and found a forum comment saying that they tried painting underneath the nail and it was pretty goof proof.

lo and behold, it works! the white polish i got on my skin was easily removed and what's left are nice and even white tips. the white isn't as bright as in a typical french manicure - but i'll take less than blinding white tips over endless, demanding precision of normal application.

for those people who actually are coordinated, i also saw that you can use scotch tape instead of buying stick on guides. i love the internet!

poor paris

after yesterday's mind boggling prison release, paris has just as quickly been escorted back to jail. her "medical reason" is rumored to be claustrophobia caused by her 23 hours / day spent in the solitary confinement cell. originally, sheriff lee baca was responsible for her release.

he had this to say, "The problem here is that there is a medical issue and it isn't wise to keep a person in jail with her problem over an extended period of time and let the problem get worse. In my opinion, justice is being served by the decision to have her serve her time at home. She would still be in the county jail if it were not for the medical advice. My message to those who don't like celebrities is that punishing celebrities more than the average American is not justice."

instead of 23 days the heiress now must serve 42 more days of her sentence in prison. seeing paris crying in the picture above (click on pic for link back to tmz.com) makes me actually feel bad for her. i didn't think it was fair when she traded prison for house arrest but it doesn't seem like a traffic violation should be grounds for 45 days of imprisonment either. i wonder if she can switch to a white collar prison now...
